What is “family medicine”? You will find various definitions; everything from “medical treatment provided for all members of a family” to “birth to death” care. At Douglas Family Medicine, it means all this and more. We feel that providing healthcare to an entire family (children, parents, and even grandparents) places us in the unique position of providing treatment, not just for a single patient, but also to understand how other members of the family might be affected and proactively include them and treat them when necessary. We have a sign in our waiting room that says “Hope, Health, Happiness, Humility, and Honor”. This sign encompasses our mission and is a real representation of our feelings and intentions towards our patients. So, whether you need to see us for heartburn or high blood pressure, a last minute sports physical or a flu shot, or just to talk about the stress you are under in your life, we will always try to share our best with you. |
